What is the best natural cleaner for a leopard gecko tank? I read online that vinegar/water mix is the best, is this true? Does it matter what type of vinegar?

Thanks!

White vinegar/water solution is the best way to remove hard water stains and spots.

Thank you :-)

I have heard of others using diluted CLR but that just seems too crazy to me! lol Vinegar, water and elbow grease has always worked for me.

CLR seems to be just lactic acid and a surfactant; the acid dissolves the lime deposits, forming calcium lactate (which is sometimes used as a mineral supplement to supply calcium), while the surfactant collects oily components and should rinse away fairly easily. should not be a problem.

on the other hand, unless you have some oily components in the crud on your aquarium, you really only need the acid, and while vinegar is probably dilute compared to CLR, it's a lot cheaper.
