i recently bought a devil lion and a porcupine puffer i have a clown fish and an anemone in the tank as well (its a thirty gallon but i am in the process of seting up my 90 gallon tank) the problem is its been a couple days and they just sit at the bottom the puffer looks like hes dead unless he smells food. the lion fish isnt eating what is the problem?

What are your water parameters? Give us some specs on your tank.. More info will help.

Were they eating where you bought them. Most puffers will eat inverts before anything else. The lion fish, not sure which is the devil lionfish, if not brought over to frozen food may need live foods to start with. Ghost shrimp and such to get him eating. Did you acclimate them slowly with a drip or just float the bag and drop in. Most sw fish do not like major changes and they will be sedate for a few days until they can adjust. Lion fish tend to be stalkers so long periods of inactivity is common.

i dip acclimate them not incredibly slow though i dripped them for an hour or so then added them to the tank - the clown fish is in his own little compartment so he cannot be touched. i will give the live food a try the only thing im worried about is that the puffer will get them before the lion has a chance too!
