Need aquascaping Ideas. Pics very much welcomed.

Its going to take me a while to get my 125G freshwater tank going so I decided to get some ideas for the aquascaping while I wait. I would love to see some pictures of other tanks. It doesn't need to be near my tank size.

Here is some info you need to know. The tank is fairly tall, 24" so if you have a tank/idea that makes use of height, the would be great. Its going to have a black sand bottom (even if I have to buy new black sand), but I don't mind adding pebbles or small rocks. I really want aquascaping ideas that use rocks and wood since I won't have plants (maybe a couple of hardy ones, but I might end up getting fish that would eat them so it would defeat the purpose). I would also love some suggestions on where to get nice rock (example:slate) or wood pieces. It can be online or a general local idea. I would thinking my local plant nursery might have some nice rocks.

Here's a pic of my 90gal freshwater setup. Excuse the glare, it was pretty bright in my room that day but you get the idea. Hope this helps you with your setup. Good luck. What fish do you plan on keeping?
 
cbau45- Beautiful tank! Hopefully I can find some great pieces of driftwood like yours. As for fish, not sure. I might just get a bunch of schoolers. lol I have always wanted lots of fish, but my previous freshwater tanks were way too small and you can never have very many fish in a saltwater tank.

jm1212- The good/bad thing is I don't have a light fixture yet. I never bought one because I was going to make a hood for my saltwater tank and then install a light kit. I am certainly going to get one, but it wasn't a big thing on my priority list. I have been looking at many 125G setups here and lots of them are planted so I might do some java moss once I get a light fixture. I actually have some java moss and another plant in my sister's betta tank. It came with my shrimp order so I threw it in. Surprisingly, its been growing nicely without any supplement light. The sun seems to be fine for it. Going on strong for 4 months now after my tiny light fixture broke. I don't seem to have much luck with lights.
 
I usually get my ideas from my surroundings. The natural beauty of Nagano is great layout ideas. Driving through a mountain pass and looking down at a valley or passing over a stream, I think, "Hmmm....that would be cool layout design"

Another thing is to keep in mind when starting your aquascape are the basic shapes and layout elements. Try to keep balance in mind as well. But these are all for natural scapes. I'm not really familiar with many other types.
 
If you want some nice driftwood I got that large piece on the right from Preuss, they usually have a great selection. The other piece on the left i got from Aquatic Gardens. Just look around at your LFS, they should have something. Just an FYI, those larger pieces can be a bit pricey so shop around. If you need any suggestions for stocking schemes just let me know, i've kept just about everything with regards to freshwater stuff.
