Need different fish!

I just thought of something... aren't fancy goldfish and comets cold water fish, and loaches tropical fish? I have to agree with aquariumfishguy... looks like you are fully stocked (and most definately overstocked). I would see if you can return the comets to the lfs (and maybe the loach too, if it's a tropical water loach and especially if it's a clown loach, as they grow huge and need at least 2 others to keep the truly happy).

dwayne-- I would just note that there are many colder water loaches, although admittedly the information I always find is so contradictory.

I have generally seen the dojo loach/weather loach sold in goldfish specialty stores in their cold water section. Of course, a quick google search has resulted in two very different temperature ranges... one says 75-80F, the other 50-75!

dwayne, if your suspicion is correct and we are talking about a clown loach or other tropcial sp., then wattsin, you've got some decisions about heating and such to make.

Can you get a closeup of the loach so we can figure out whether it is cold or warm water? If not you can go here to look at lots of pictures and see if anything matches.

Do you mean 4 Inches? 4 cm would be like fry (babies) so I don't think they are 4 cm.

Yes, fancy goldfish do best at temps around 74-75 degrees F. This helps aid in digestion and usually makes their metabolism faster.
