Can I use epoxy to glue plastic?

I'm trying to make a large compartment (like a breeder trap/net) to breed and raise some fancy guppies. I've already bought some nylon mesh material (it's called 'tulle' and pronounced 'tool') from a craft store that has open holes large enough for the guppy fry to escape. I just need to make a basic frame that I can wrap this mesh around and glue on to.

What can I use to glue the frame together? If I use plastic rods or something, are there certain plastics that are not safe for fish?

What kind of glue/epoxy can I use to glue the mesh to the frame?

I made a box out of plastic mesh. The first mesh I got was size 7, but the holes in it I felt were a little small, so I had to go to a craft store to find a larger mesh. Wal-Mart only had the 7.

Anyway, I just cut out the pieces and sewed it together with fishing line. I also used fishing line to attach a suction cup to the back side to hold it in place.

When I have a livebearer that's about ready to have babies, I setup the mesh box in a 10 gallon tank with some java moss on the bottom (bottom of the tank and the mesh box) and put the mom in there. Has been working great for me so far

to build the frame i would suggest plastic of some sort.... you might be able to use hotmelt glue or something to get the basic structure built, but then you'll want something with better adhesion like silicone on the joints.

i was trying the marbles theory for my experiment. put marbles on the bottom of the tank so the fry drop into them. i wasn't thrilled with the results, but it might have worked better if i paid closer attention to the tank tho. you can buy them bulk (sort of) at a craft store like michaels.
