I need some quick help.

I may be able to get one of these dirt cheap, but I don't know much about it. I was planning on getting a Eheim Ecco, but this deal fell on in my lap.

I would have to replace the hose and filter media. How expensive/difficult is it to do that?

Additionaly, the lever(I'm guessing he means handle) is broken. The part can be fixed for $10.

It was in a salt water tank, would be going into a 45g freshwater tank. Any problems there?

Also, it'll be going to a 45g tank now, but I want to go big now so it'll work when I bump up to a 72g.

Finally, I'm going to look it up, but in case somebody knows quicker than I can look it up, what are the dimensions.

Ok, I just bought it off of ebay. Fantastic deal, 91.99 including shipping.

My question is this:

The guy will include the substrate if I pay more for shipping. The substrate was used in a SW tank, so I'm thinking I need new substrate anyway. However, if y'all think I can use the substrate, at what additional shipping price should I say don't send it. I'm not sure what substrate I need for this filter, so I'm not sure how to price it on big al's.

You should be able to reuse it, SW and FW use different bacteria but boiling the efhisubstrat or rinsing with hot tap water should kill it, then you can recycle it for FW.

I guess it depends on what you want to do, and which is cheaper. If he has a bunch and the shipping price is right...

Yea boil the media and then it can be re-used. I got a 2028 for 80 dollars and I love it! You can basically make your own media. I did...

okay, who can help me with priming my Eheim Professional II after dozens of power surges yesterday. It is non functioning and I want to see if parts are burned out. Sucks living in a new development with construction and cut lines!!! Even with a surge protector it shut down. I'm working on a time line for my cichlids here.. ANY help??? ANYONE?
