Heater

I was doing a water change and today nothing went right. The Python overdrained my tank and as I was runing to stop it I open my canister. Water goes everywhere and I start to clean it up. Then I notice my water level going down fast. So I take out the Python and start cleaning again. While this is going to my heater is on . So I walk into my room to turn on the canister while I sell something burning. So I ask mom if she is cooking ( :D ) Nope. So I look at the power bar, nope. Then I was think OMG HEATER. And sure enought it is. So I turn it off and thats where I am now. what should I do, the last thing I want is it blowing up.
Sorry about my spelling, im in a rush, and my hands are wet.

I would say just turn it back on once you got enough water in there.....see if it still works. I wouldnt worry about it blowing up.

Unplug it, let it cool, and check for cracks. Most will be okay from a brief exposure, but it's always best to check.

Eek, if the heater is hot do not add water onto it. The sudden temp change could cause it to shatter.

Remove the heater if you safely can (a hot pad or oven glove can help), let it come back down to room temp. Then, re-install it in the tank and plug it back in.

I would remove it from the tank, as Harlock says and leave it out to cool for a bit.... say half hour or so..... then after you're sure there's no cracks or breaks place it back into the tank and leave it in for another half hour or so..... then plug it in.
