I am wanting to do a planted/shrimp/snail 10g tank. It's already cycled. I'm using a penguin bio-wheel filter and havent gotten the right lights yet.

Like we talked about in chat, you can't really grow much with the setup you have now...we suggested that you upgrade to an incandescent hood (for about $10 to $15) and replace the incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs. That will increase your watts from around 15 to 30 or more, depending on the bulbs. Then you will have many choices of plants to grow.

Ideally for low to medium light plants you will want between 2-3 watts of light. Anything more then that and you will be looking at a set up for high light plants and the possibility of co2 injection since without it and too much light you will run into a lot of problems with out of control algae.Easy plants to start out with that will grow in low to medium light are java fern, java moss, anubias, crypts, and jungle vals. There are others as well. Just depends on the look you are going for and how much time and effort you are willing to spend to get the planted tank up and running. Get it off to a good start with some fast growers that suck up a lot of the nutrients and are easy to grow.I have listed them already. A few others are some kinds of sword plants and hornwort. You can leave the hornwort floating since it will grow just fine that way and some fish actually prefer some kind of floating plant in their tanks.
