Need help Sump Design, Will this work?

I need help designing this sump before I start building it. Attach is my idea of the sump. Can anyone give me some pointers? or, can anyone tell me if this design will work? This is the equipment I have, but if you guys think I should change anything, let me know. Any changes that need to be done, for example dimensions, gap between dividers, equipment, etc., tell me. I want to do it right the first time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What size display tank is this going on? Thats a lot of flow through a tank that size, especially for going straight through the fuge.
 
I would recommend closer to 500gph through the sump, and then use a closed loop with the larger pump (which is what I'm doing on my 55 reef). Is this going to be reef, FOWLR, what?

I'm planning on reef. I know this might be a dumb question, but what is a closed loop?
 
It works kind of like a canister filter, without the canister. Basically a pump pulls water out of one part of the tank and spits it back out someplace else to give some extra turnover. I'm going to be using a 1700gph pump for my closed loop.
 
Its just an alternative to having several powerheads in the tank for flow.
 
Sploke, look at this drawing. If I added another pipe (yellow line) to suck water from the inlet side, therefore it wouldn't all go thru the fuge. Would this work?

Well it would syphon from one end to the other, not sure how much water it would actually move though.
 
Other than the flow being too much, is there anything else that might not work with this set up? How about the gap between dividers? How about the skimmer?
