I have a 20 long tank that is un-used (as of now). It is going to be a planted tank with co2. I need to know if i should get 2 tom rapids mini canisters or an Aqua clear power filter. I need to know which one will best suit my tank ,plants, (swords, ferns, most lowlight/medium beginner plants) and co2

Thanks

get an aquaclear 50, that will give you the best filtration for that size tank, i think its 50 or 55 not sure the #

Sweet. Thanks! Why are canister filters "special" or better for planted tanks? I heard that somewhere...

I have used a small AC 20 while injecting DIY into my 30 gallon. The AC's have an adjustable flow rate and it was set and a mere trickle. Not sure if it made much difference on how much Co2 was being gassed off though...but my plants did improve somewhat compared to when I wasn't addind DIY.

With pressurized though its a not a smart idea....

an aquaclear will create a lot of surface disruption due to the waterfall type output. if you are running co2 i would go with a canister or perhaps an internal filter or two that sits down in the bottom of the tank. fluval makes internal filters, see here:

i've never used these filters myself, but i would think they'd solve the surface disruption/co2 gassing off problem. if anyone has reviews on this filter please chime in!
