need help with my 55 gal.

They are Central American so wouldnt work, plus they are more aggressive than G. labiatus. But they would work if thats what you want for your 55g instead of the labiatus.

yes that is what im talking about, just them i heard they need a group like 3 0r 4, and they get around 6 in

locally, umm could i put 3 geophagus surinamensis, or would the aggression be to bad

Really your tank is too small for most geos, especially "surinamensis". Btw geos labeled as surinamensis are 99.9% some other kind of geo, very hard to get true surinamensis unfortuniately.

As for the other CAs cichlids I'd say get 4 or 5 to spread out the aggression.

so 4 firemouths, or 4 cutteri, or hrp. the lady at the store says that surinamensis normall dont get bigger than 8 or 9 inches , shes never seen on bigger, and same with the jurapari

Even if they only get to be 8-9" your tank will still be too small. I'd go for either of the three CA cichlids you listed above

what about a salvini

I believe they'd work as well but I'm not CA cichlid guy. If you want to get more responces checkout monsterfishkeepers.com and look at there SA/CA cichlid section.

what about a salvini
Can be very nasty, and the males get big enough to clear out a 55g (kill everything inside). I have a 4" female that chased three 6" electric blue jack dempseys and three 6" clown loach into the far corner of a 75 and wouldn't let them out.
