I recently bought a few plants from Petco (NOT the ones in the plastic containers...learned that lesson the hard way) and was wondering what exactly these were.

I have them in a smaller nano planted tank now but can move them if they are not suitable for that kind of tank.

Thanks for any help you can give me :D

i think the first one is a form of hygro
the second i don't think i've ever seen before

I agree- the first one does look like hygrophila. When you find out what the second one is, let us know. It's very attractive.

Someone on another forum said that the second one might be Trichomanes javanicum. Does that sound right? The pics I've seen of Trichomanes javanicum dont look exactly the same...

Bolbitus maybe? It actually looks like Peacock fern, which is often sold as aquatic, but is not, and will die off in your tank. I had some of that before I knew better. Now that I look at the picture more closely, I think that might be it.

I don't think its dying off, some of the leaves are just red. Oh well, I'm not 100% sure what it is, which means its probably non-aquatic. I thought I was playing it safe since I got it from their actual plant tank.

I'll just keep it there and see what happens for now.
