Need help with scientific name

I was looking at some cichlids at petsmart. I was going to get one for my Peacock tank. I don't have a pic but maybe someone can help me. I believe the scientific name was Cyphotilapia Cyprichromis But not sure. I know the Cyprichromis was the last part of the name. They look almost identical to the ahli or fryeri wit a little whit on the dorsal fin. They are actually about 3-4in and are silver but one is blue.

You sure cyprichromis was the species and not the genus?

well cyphotilapia is the scientific name for the frontosa and the scientific name of the cyprichromis usually aids the leptosoma species two scientific names to two different species but same endemic to lake tanganyika probably a mistake made buy a young store attendent looking at a stock list and not sure so they wrote that down but by your discription i think you may be dealing cyprichromis leptosoma take a photo if you can that will help with the ID of that fish..

Hmm I'm stuck, I will have to go back and look. It definately wasn't a Cyprichromis. It looks more like a hap or a Peacock. It has to be mis labeled.

Most definitely. Neither names fit haps or peacocks.
