Maybe your tank is still pretty wide do you know how wide it is, since you have the hex tank I think 1 or 2 angels should be ok, of course the loong tanks are ideal but that's not realistic and having a tank with no fish isn't realistic either so I think angels are an ok choice since you have such little choice to begin with.
I'm sure once you see if they don't like your tank you will get a long one but without giving your brand new set up hex a try I can't see you moving on..
