please help me I,m having a terible time with diatom in my saltwater reef tank please give me some advise as to how to get rid of it thanx

my tank is 3 months old, cycled with damsels, 20 gals ,live sand,20 lbs of live rock , 4 damsels and 2 clowns , 2 turbos and 10 newvarious snail [ excuse my spelling] lfs said to use maracyn med but to use fresh water type but still no luck, grateful for any help
I'm the last person who should say anything, but you're a bit overstocked which is probably contributing a lot of nutrients to your tank. Can you post all your levels? At three months a cyano bloom is pretty normal, cutting down nutrients (less fish, less feeding, using phosphate and nitrate adsorbing resins, more water changes) should help. Try Googling 'cyanobacteria', or visit www.reefcentral.com and do a search for 'cyano', all kinds of info should pop up. I'd use antibiotics only as a last resort, they can really disrupt your tank.
