need info.....on some filtration products

the AC500 would be about RM 150 while the Eheim 2213 would be about RM 260.

i am looking for a product that can handle 23 gal to 67 gal tank.

which one should i go for?
which would be better, based on price/performance?
which would be easier to maintain?
which is more problem-free?
and will they work with sand as gravel?

I really like the AC's. They are easy to maintain, easy to monitor, and you can use a variety of cheaply replaced media. I don't have as much experience with canister filters, but will say that canisters can be more complicated to maintain. For most fish loads, I think the AC would be more than adequate.

ACs are OK, but a pre-filtered canister can be very low maintenance, especially if it's mostly for biofiltration. I don't use a single filter on an tank. I use one for mostly mech filtration and one for biofiltration.

ACs are OK, as are Emperors and HOT Magnums. All are good HOB filters. For a canister, you cannot do better than Eheim.

The canister would be better at equal flow rates, however, the canister filter would cost twice as much. The AC 500 in my opinion is the cheapest filter when comparing it to the flow rate.

HOBs are cheaper, especially in the short run. I have HOBs on many tanks, and they work well. Canisters tend to be quieter and longer lived.

ACs are good filters. So are Emperors and HOT Magnums. Any of these will do fine.

thanx all. so now if any of you were myself..........

would you be willing to pay almost 2x the price of the AC500 for an Eheim 2213? or 3x more for a 2217? or does it all depend on bio-load?
