Hello everyone.

Long time reader, first time poster. I need some advice. We have what I believe is a 125 gal aquarium in our garage that my wife previously used for reptiles. Her dad ripped out the center brace quite some time ago (ugh!!). I'd like to set up the tank for my Oscar, but I'm concerned that the tank will bow out without the center brace. Does anyone know of any companies that sell replacement frames for a tank this size? I've contacted glasscages.com, but the biggest frame they carry is 48 X 18. I also do not know the brand of the tank. Thanks everyone for the help.

Thanks. I was thinking about them too. Glasscages emailed me again and said that two 36X18 frames might be able to be used, but I have to provide them with exact measurements. I plan on measuring tonight and will email them and see what happens.

Your 125g dimensions are probably 72" x 18" x 21"

here you go.. but it dont state if the 72" is with a brace or not.. I suggest you try calling their support and finding out. Emails dont work with them because i emailed them a long time ago and still no response..

Also how thick is the glass??

If it was specifically a reptile tank then it might not be able to hold water if completely filled.

I just ordered a top frame for my 1990 ish 125 gallon All glass from my LFS..
It was only like $40.
the glass top is $70

If you can ID the manufacturer and a daye it was built, (there should be a tag on it) you might be able to get one at your LFS.

Thanks for the responses. At one time, she did have Oscars in it. Of course, this was before the brace was ripped out. I'll check to see if there is a tag on it. Thanks for the help everyone.

Ok, I measured the tank last night. I'm not sure if I measured correctly, but here are the measurements: 48 1/8 X 18 3/16 X 20 5/16. Now that I look at it, I think it might be a 110 gallon tank. It looks like two of my 55 gallons placed next to each other. Do these measurements seem right or am I way off? Thanks for the help.

sounds like a 75

i have one almost those exact dimensions
