Need pointers on Oscar

Hi guys

I am planning to add a pair of young (probably fry) oscars to my community tank - just want you guys to provide me a few pointers on raising these awesome kind.
I have not had very good experience in the past with oscars though.
Last time when I brought them home - The Psuedotropheus Saolusies (?) ripped them apart, and they were gone in less than a week

What other fish are in the tank and what size is the tank? Oscars can be a problem in a comunity tank i have tried twice and been un sucessfull, they tend to be bullied to death if they are to small.
