need resource for live food[large grouper]

for breeding cichlids you can breed convicts in 2 20g Long tanks. you have the parents in one and once the breed you let them raise the young for a few days after they are free swimming maybe a week then take the parents out(easy to do because they will attack the net and make it easy to scoop them out) and put them in the other 20g they will breed shortly in that tank and while you gutload and feed the convict fry to you groupers and about the time you are out of fry the next batch of fry will be ready to go. you just keep switching the parents between the 2 tanks

only problem with freshwater fish is that they lack nutrients that saltwater fish need

try to feed them frozen seafood, like shrimp until you can catch your own food again

thanks guys for your input, sounds like the convicts are the way to go then. i will probably build a sectioned breeding tank then.

but that is an easy fix, feed them saltwater food.

I feed my fish ocean nutrition foods both the fw and sw ones

I'm not sure how big your groupers are, so this might not be the best idea for you...
I have a friend / co-worker that has an angler in a tank at work. We set up a tank of mollies and feed the angler those. We feed the mollies sw food. You can even convert the mollies to sw if you like, and they'll swim around longer once you put them in with your groupers. That is, if your groupers don't instantly devour them.

well mollies are a bit small, my groupers are 7"-1' 4" so i need fish either in very large numbers small or a few 2" or so fish a day. groupers eat a lot too =b
