Need some advice.=)

thanks guy for all the responses, i might try suction cups if boiling doesnt work, i am going to remove all the substrate i have in the tank now and store it to use later when i redo my 45 gallon, then i am going to fill it with the 3 bags of eco complete, then i need to fill it. I do not have a python how do you thik i should do it, should i just drag the ose into the house and fill it with really cold water form there, or should i use the 5 gallon bucket method with warm and treated water?

As of now

Ok so its filled, i took out all the flourite and put in the 3 bags of eco complete and sprinkled a bit of flourite on top of it, then filled it, got my filter heater and light set up, driftwood still needs to be placed, it still floated after the boiling so i put the slate back on. it is really cloudy now and its been about 5 hours. i have my filter running now, will the coulds settle quicker with it off? and suggestions?

My light is still a little weird, but im alone right now and its the best i could do, eventually i will get a lerger one that i will be able to mount directly ove the tank.

Go with the slate. I have driftwood that i've used for years and the thing still floats.

I drilled slate into the bottoms of my wood, i used steel screws is that ok? one of the peices of wood popped out of the slate and started floating again, its been almost 24 hours since i filled it and its still really cloudy..

Unless you bought your wood at an aquarium store or if it was already used I'd let it sit in a bucket for a day or two regardless, cause it'll leach tannins into the water and turn it a dingy brown color.

Make sure your screws are stainless steel or they'll rust n that causes problems. You can use washers too if the wood is popping off the screws.

is it better to have my filter on or off right now, the tank is still really cloudy

I still have one that floats, will not stay down so there is a pot on top of it with gravel in it. I hope it sinks some day  its been soaking for well over a month.

I had to soak two large pieced of driftwood for about 12 months before they would stay down by themselves. Some pieces just take time.

NIce tank!

:headshake2:If thats a computer next to your tank i'd advice you to move it further away from the tank. Eventually you will get some water onto your computer when you do WC's or clean the tank. well you can imagine the rest.....:grinyes:
