My brother has a 54g corner tank that he really loves. After seeing my planted tanks, he wants to turn it into a good low light setup.
Therefore, the 18w stock bulb just isn't going to do it. I said, ok, let's try to get you 55-75 watts in there, and then I'll give you some crypts, anubias, bolbitis, dwarf sag....y'all know the list.
Anyway, anybody have any suggestions on how to get 55-75 watts over one of those corner tanks. His current stock plastic hood doesn't have the space for a 55w AH Supply retrofit kit, or at least he doesn't think so.
Basically, anybody turned one of these 54g corner tanks into a planted tank on the cheap? He's pretty handy and can build a canopy, but he would prefer to not have to steam any wood(but will if he has too).
