I need to get a filter for a 10gal tank the has adjustable flow and a filter basket with small enough holes, that I don't have to worry about baby cherry shrimp getting sucked into it.
I wish I could find a HOB filter with a filter basket like my Eclipse hoods have...

Suggestions?

I wonder if the device sold on aquabid as a fry saver would work for you.
It sticks on the intake tube of a power filter.

You know, that just might be the ticket! I was looking for something just like that for my Aquaclear 30. I never could find anything and used a filter bag instead (looks awful) One of these would have been perfect.

Thank you, very much!

An Aquaclear sponge with a slit cut in it will work as a fry protector on the intake of a Aquaclear (or any HOB) filter. Plus lotsof places for things to grow that little babies like to eat.

It's called a prefilter. Do rinse it with your water changes.

I would get the AC 20 or AC30 filter and put the sponge on the intake. I have used this in my tankand have had no problem with the shrimp.
