I have an abundance of water sprite in my 20 long shrimp tank. It is growing very well and gets so tall that it spreads across the top pf the tank. I have pruned some of it to allow light to come thru however the pruned stems start to look awful after a while; turning yellow and dying off. Is there a certain way or point I should be snipping the stems so the balance of it does not die off?

Thanks for the help!

The leaves below the cut tend to die off over time as the plant focuses its energy on growing new leaves above the cut. I think the only way to avoid this is to pull the plant out , cut it off near the base and then replant the rest.

Do you use any ferts.Dosing with iron can help with yellowing plants.
