Need to get rid of some bluegill - any ideas?

think there would be a way to slowly chill the water over the span of a day or two and acclimate them to a 30 degree temperature drop?

My first thought was "back in the pond" - followed by images of them bouncing along on the ice...

So, either fry 'em or keep 'em until spring, then acclimate them slowly (by bringing either tank or bucket temp slowly down to that of the pond).

I think a 30 degree temperature drop over a couple days would be a little extreme. Air temperature might drop that fast but water takes considerably longer. I would either wait or do the drop over like a week if you can. The longer the better, really.

Bluegill does taste mighty nice...but I understand that its hard to eat pets. Would you eat your pet rabbit?

My thoughts exactly!! :D

Yes. Grew up on a Ranch in Montana. Ate my "pet" rabbit, steer, lamb, chicken, duck, and goose. Very tasty.

I also, have eaten my pet rabbit. My dad and I used to raise them when I was around 7 years old. It killed me to know that he was outside butchering the poor thing, but MAN he tasted good!!

My old buddy Arnold the pig . Caught it when it was real small, fed it for about a year , best pork I ever ate :)
