Needing help with Golden Mystery snails

Flavored tums are fine. Unflavored ones are often ignored as they don't appeal the snails too much. I dose Tums daily. I find this redundant with my plaster of Paris pucks but I just like how they smoosh their faces into the tablet and end up with white powder stuck on their faces.:grinyes:

P.S. Tums can cloud the water but there is no harm done in it. My plaster of Paris just helps clarify the water although water changes also do a nice job.

Hi :) Thanks for the quick reply . Ill have to make a trip back to the store , but I thought it was better to be safe than sorry :) Will the Tums hurt the Mollys that are in the tank ? Thanks again :)

Oh , I have started getting rid of the clutches . I just got rid of another one today . I hate doing it , but their are so many of them when they hatch . We just gave some away to one of our friends . We're thinking about trying to see if we take some in if we can get some in store credit . I have to say they are cute though :)

Hi Lynn, I just freeze my clutches as soon as they are laid. I just have to think of them like they are chicken eggs and I don't feel so bad. Welcome! A lot of us are snail lovers and you should be able to get help with almost any question you have.

After I seen how many babies they have as cute as they are I dont hesitate to remove the clutches now :) Everyone has been so nice and helpful here . Im so happy I found this site :) Thanks :)

did you ever find out what kind of plant(s) you have?????

How big is your tank and what else do you have in their with the snails? Get ready for lots of partial water changes! LOL!

Hi ya'll :) As for the plant Im still not sure what kind it is ( its still alive though ) . We havent bought anymore live plants .

Well we have 3 Mollys and 2 Golden Mystery Snails in a 5 gallon tank . Yeah , I do very frequent water changes , here latly I have been having to do more than one a week because the water keeps clouding up ( not quite sure why ) . I cant get any testers right now because we only have a pay check comming in every 2 weeks . I have been doing partial water changes about every other day ( every day if it starts to cloud up bad ) . I m not sure if its because I have gone ahead and put a whole capful of Cycle in the tank when I do water changes ( it says it wont hurt the fish ) , it says on the bottle it wont hurt them . I think the next time I change the water Im going to leave out the cycle to see if thats why its clouding up . The tank has already went throught the cycling process . We have used a gravel vac also . Doing f requent water changes doesnt bother me , but with having to do it this much Im not sure if it will hurt my fish . Also Im not sure if it will cause my tank to cycle again .
