Neolamprologus brichardi Breeding.

Rock caves are the best for this particular species if you want to add a shell or two it wouldn't hurt its your taste..

I think rufioman is confused on what a Neolamprologus Brichardi is. Just because some shelies are of the Neolamp genious does not mean all neolamp's are shellies.

Cool looking fish though, good luck on breeding.

I think rufioman is confusing the Neolamprologus brichardi with the Telmatochromis brichardi. The later one is a shellie species.

Thanks guys! :) one pair has formed and are showing spawning behaviour which is promising. It's a species only tank now though.. They beat up the two J. Dickfeldi :( but I saved them and put them in my other tank.

I have a lot of holey rock, slate, and other types of caves and caverns that the brichardis like to hide in and have had one pair have 4 generations of fry so far. It's fun to watch the parents and their older young ones watch over the newest batch of babies. They will defend them to the death if they have to.They are really good parents, and as I said, even the previous "babies" stand guard, too as well. Here is a picture of the brichardis and their fry. The babies are out swimming on top of the rocks. When there is danger, they all go under the rocks or in the caverns.

Species tank is the way to go if you want to keep breeding without casualties. I kept 4 in a 55 with several other Tangs. 2 months after the first spawn the pulchers got their own tank.
