Neolamprologus cylindricus

I was looking at getting a Neolamprologus cylindricus, but my tank setup is a little different than what this fish requires. I have two pieces of driftwood instead of rocks. The way I have things situated inside tank forms many hiding spots. I was wondering if this would do? Also, would it be okay to get one male of this species and also have other species of fish in the same tank?

I have certainly had driftwood in my cylindricus tank, just keep an eye on pH, as the wood tends to acidify a bit. Two piece of driftwood doesn't sound like a lot, in that each fish likes to have a rockpile to hang out in and dig underneath. They interact a lot socially, but even mated pairs seem to have separate hidey holes.
What do you mean "other fish." Do you plan to have just a single cylindricus with other cichlids, or a group of NCs? I have a colony, and use black ruby barbs as dither fish, and the habits of the species complement each other well.
How big is the tank, by the way?

My tank is 30 gallons. I was looking at getting some catfish and only getting one N/C.

You certainly have room for a pair. I always like to get a small group of babies and let them figure out who to mate with. There's never a problem getting people to take cylindricus when you want to cut the number down to a single pair. Anyway, your setup will be excellent for a cylindricus and some cats.
