what are the ideal situations for neons. like, waht should i have the ph at,temperature, waht food should i feed them how much light a day should i expose them to, and how would i be able to sex them?

Neons like slightly acidic water (at least 6.8 or lower) to live and extremely acidic water (like 5.0) to breed. Breeding almost never happens anyway so don't worry about it. Temps in the upper 70's, normal light, females get fatter than the males but there are no other visible differences. I would recommend going with cardinals since they tend to be hardier than neons.
