I have a 10G tank that gets more sunlight then the rest and is starting to grow algae quite nicely.

This tank also happens to be the tank that has my assassin snails in it. Is it safe to add a nerite or two to clean up the mess without risking the poor things getting eaten?

If so, which type is better to add? Something like an olive, or one of the horned variety? I have one i can move from another tank into this tank if thats the case.

Thanks in advance everyone :D

i believe that the nerites are fine with assassins because they are larger and im sure it wouldn't matter which one you threw in there. but id wait for at least one other person to confirm just in case

okay thanks! i thought i had heard that they are okay with them, but I'm not entirely sure!

Nerites tend to be the last targets but I wouldn't keep a small olive or clithon with assassins. Use a larger nerite like zebra or tiger as they will less likely to be attacked by assassins.

gonna do it now, we shall see. I really don't want to lose a nerite so i will keep a close eye!

edit: i also made sure there was plenty of other snails to eat, so hopefully they won't bother with my lovely nerite...

I found a dead nerite once in my assassin tank... and remember when Rach had an incident when her brigg got ambushed.

I think those are rare occasions though aren't they? I think they tend to mostly not target them...
