Maybe we should have a sticky for commonly mis-prounced words in the aquaria hobby (both fresh and saltwater).
My pet peeve is still the word cichlid.
Still can't believe how many people say it wrong.

How do you think it should be said?

I am still curious about chaeto. I have heard it a few different ways but Im not sure how you guys say it.

i've always said kate-oh...granted, i wasn't around anyone that knew anything about marine bio/saltwater aquaria so....but i am almost positive that's right

I was pretty sure chaeto is kate-oh I thought I saw it pronounced somewhere. Im not 100% though.

Yes it is kate-oh...unless you're here in the south where it sometimes drawn out as kay-toe
