Please note that I want these snails to go into good homes. Please make sure your tank is ready to take them in. Do NOT put them in tanks with snail eaters such as loaches. Puffers will also be a threat (in some cases, not all). Please be responsible when purchasing these guys. I didn't work my butt off only to find people recklessly rehoming them in bad tank conditions.

They're excellent for wall algae control. Eating green spot and brown spot is their forte. The downside is that if you have too much algae for them to eat, they will lay eggs. Sometimes on your glass, which you'll have to scrub off. But for the most part, they're very beneficial to any planted tank or any tank for that matter. I personally like to keep approx. about 1 nerite per 5 gallons. They do NOT breed in freshwater. Eggs can be laid but they will never form into new snails, so overpopulation will not be a problem. These are the TRUE snails that will eat algae.

So, time to sell the goodies.

Nerites & Clithons:

Tiger Nerite - $3.50 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108291757/excellent-spot-algae-eater-whether-it-be-green
Stripped/Zig Zagged pattern of black and maroon. Attractive and basic nerite snail. Gets to about the size of a quarter, maybe a little more, in diameter.

Green Tiger Nerite - $4.00 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108291576/excellent-spot-algae-eater-whether-it-be-green
Not exactly green shelled or bodied, not sure why it's called a Green Tiger... But in any case, it's a different color than the regular tiger nerites.

Cliton Corona (Horned Bumble Bee Snail) - $7 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108291407/excellent-spot-algae-eater-whether-it-be-green
These C. Coronas have REALLY good horns on them still. A majority of them do anyway, hence why it's a little pricier. Clithons generally stay smaller than other nerites such as the tigers, zebras, red spot and so on.

Assorted Clithon sp. - $6.00 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108289978/assorted-horned-snails-clithon-sp
Various assortment of snails with horns on them. They come in a variety of colors that include yellow, green, dark forest green, black, red. You can request for specific colors and I will try to pick them out for you. MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) PER COLOR REQUESTS PER CUSTOMER. Everything else will be at random. Sometimes, I may run out of the color you are asking for. So I cannot guarantee that I can get it for you. However, I will try my best to fulfill any requests!

Assorted Miniature Snails (Nerite spp. ???) - $5.00 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108290602/assorted-mini-snails-nerite-sp-excellent
They're small nerite snails with really interesting design patterns. They're definitely different and more interestingly patterned (some of them) than the tigers and zebras. Check out the pics. I'll do my best to pick out the ones that look good for you. Most of these guys have similar patterns to the Assorted Clithon sp. but without the horns. MAXIMUM OF TWO (2) PER COLOR REQUESTS PER CUSTOMER. Everything else will be at random. Sometimes, I may run out of the color you are asking for. So I cannot guarantee that I can get it for you. However, I will try my best to fulfill any requests!

Black Urchin Snail - $6.00 http://plantmejerry.tumblr.com/post/108291089/black-urchin-snail-clithon-sp-excellent

Just to clarify, I'll explain how the assorted snails work.

There are various colors in that group. Prices will be the same for all and any color you choose. However, I am going to cap the number of snails one person can order of the same color. So basically, if you want to choose specific colors, you can only request for up to two (2) of the same color. You can request 2 red, 2 yellow and 2 green. You cannot ask for 3 orange and 3 red.
However, you CAN request for 2 red mini snail and 2 red horned snail, if you really want reds.

Again, colors ARE limited and I cannot fully guarantee the colors you request. Please contact me ahead of time if you have any requests. I will check with my stock first then get back to you for payment. Do NOT send payment until I say I have the colors you've ordered for.

Hope this clarifies things.

Thai Micro Crabs - $12 (Very limited)

Got in a few micro crabs available for sale. They're still new to me, so to my knowledge, these are not captive bred. I keep a few personally and from my observation, they're strictly nocturnal. I keep them with my SS-SSS Crystal shrimp tank. Ph of 6.6. I also have some in my snowball tank with a ph of 7.5. So as you can see, they will and can tolerate a wide range of water parameters. Temp at 74-78 degrees is what I keep them at. Again, my experience with them is limited as of today (June 1, 2009) but they do seem to be easy to care for. I don't even know what they eat but it does seem like they just pick through whatever micro-organism is available, like shrimp. It's unlikely for such a thing to starve to death. Even when you don't feed it. As long as your tank has been up and running for a month or so, it should be okay.

What's a clingon? o.O

Thanks for the bump :-D
