netbooks

oh yeah... if your concern is price then throw names out the door. just like cars it's models you're concerned with at that point. and refurbs are a great way to get a good deal. although i just got the asus netbook (new with same specs) for $300.

edit: mgarido... why the dell? planning on a hackintosh mini?

Dell has the best warranty IMHO and you can customize your system.

yeah, the warranty is great but it doesn't make up for proprietary issues imho. dell holds the sole responsibility for why i build desktops instead of buying them. i've been fixing the same 4 dells for years now for family members. it's been 1 or 2 every week like clockwork. their support sucks too. beyond the language barrier i find that most of their experts couldn't get their way around anything but a keyboard. seems to me they're hired solely on how many words they type a minute. there is the old fall back of throwing your machine down the stairs if you have a software issue and making them send you a whole new machine but that's another story. you gotta know what to do to pull that one off. ;)

I got a gateway lt2005u I think it's called. 6 cell battery, only $229 at best buy. Specs the same as most netbooks.
