Lmao. You did exactly that! Looks good, I'm sure you can't wait for it to grow in. I think you'd enjoy the personality of the Tanganyikan shell dwellers in a 20 long.... I just can't keep one without sticking lights on top of it and stuffing it full of plants.

Most of those pix are 3-4 month old and it has grown in quite a bit and I added a few additional plants since then.

I hate my camera. :wall: I wanted to show you new pix today and my batteries are dead.:mad:

Will take til tomorrow to charge.

I got a 30 gallon I need a base for it and a base for the 10. I will soon take the 10 out of the 125 gallon.

Still looking for ideas for that tank ... it has changed from a 20 long to a 30.

I think I want to keep the Banded Dwarf Cichlid (Apistogramma Bitaeniata). Anyone have advise on the best way to keep them in a 30 gallon. Do they do well with plants. How about a biotope. I am thinking that way.

But the project is a year off. And I am very early in the planning stages. Things may change 10,000 times b4 I settle down on a final plan. Be patient I am an Architect by trade. Its in my blood to think and plan.

Since you have a year to plan, you have a year to plan for a new place with no tank restrictions! Read read read. Sites like these give great examples of different planted tank styles: http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2009.cgi. They also list fish used and often give planting plans.
Most Apistos do fine with plants, Banded Dwarfs are no different though you're more likely to find A. cacatuoides available.

Moving for me is not quite that simple. I am wheelchair bound and not every place is handicap accessible even the appartment i now reside in not fully accessible for me. The management is working on another unit for me and a move is iminent but I still have that little restriction.

I really don't a problem keeping a lager tank i my place. Even when the owners saw my 125 gallon during a radon apatment inspection (HUD Compliance) b4 it had water in it they did even question me about it.

After all of this discussion though it seems that my wife and I have settled on a better idea. We will keep the tank a planted tank and use it for a grow out tank for the few fishes we now keep as well as a few additonal plant and possibly use thenm for ROAK's with a modest shipping and handling charge. BUt that will be far dow the road.

Well here's something new. I told you the plan would change; here's the 100th change.
I have obtained a 30 gallon tank for $10. :headbang2:It will be a grow out tank for Kuhli Loahes (Pangio Kuhli) and Glow Light tetras (Hemigrammus erythrozonus) along with the variety of aquatic plants I will later share in a variety of ways.

I hope I haven't disapointed anyone here.

I do thank everyone for there thoughts about the types of fishes. There are so many wounderful fish and so few tanks :cry:.
Gotta get more tanks :22_yikes: MTS striking again. :jaw:

Maybe I can talk the missus into that 20 long :dance2:.
