In my LFS I saw this... I have never seen one but then again I am sheltered. It's a huge cowrie. I had no idea what this thing was because of the "spikes" on the shell. One minute it had a perfectly smooth and beautiful shell and then the next it was covered in these crazy spike things! I was amazed and a bit frightened. I wanted so bad to get it because it was only $25. I think I have a new reason to get a larger tank now. Is this normal for these guys? Do the smaller ones have these disappearing spikes also?
