Never seen my Betta eating :(

some fish dont like the dry crunchy foods.

live blackworms i havent ever had small fish not eat that stuff. and bettas also go crazy over mosquito larvae if you can find some around you.

i've tried betta pellets by HBH (or whatever it's called), dried tubifex, frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp, live bloodworms, tetramin flakes, freeze dried boodworms, baby shrimps... nothing! what else can i try?

Well like the poster said you have to stick with one food and keep offering it. The fish doesn't like a change in food. If you keep offering him thing after thing he is never going to learn to like one of them. I've had plenty of fish who wouldn't eat. Never had a fish starve to death. Eventually they get hungry and eat.

He probably ate the food finally because he finally got hungry enough to get over his/her pickyness

Suby, I'm sorry to hear about your CT.... is there anything different about his setup than the other betta you have? Have you changed anything in his tank...like decorations or gravel or anything. Some bettas can get mopey if you take out a favorite toy/decoration or change thier surroundings.

Could he be constipated? I find that when my betta have that problem they do sit on the bottom and only come up once in awhile for a gulp of air. Try fasting him for a few days then offer him some bite sized pieces of cooked frozen pea, skin pealed off. If he's constipated that should help, and if he isn't, it won't hurt.

I do hope he pulls out of it Suby......borrow a camera and take a picture..QUICK ! While you still have him ! ;)

Well Emg,
Looks like the poor guy's countdown has started - I found him doing some unusual things today morning - for a moment he stood still - head-up. I wonder if I will find him alive till I get back home - he no longer displays his glorious fins - now he looks more like a roach in bowl :(
Looks like I never will be able to show you his pic :(

He is no more :(
But like you said somewhere - these are real potato chips - I got myself another one just 3 days back - he's a red moon tail :) young chap - so young that he doesnt even take note of a female

I would love to. But considering the time and effort that it is believed to take - I can hold myself for somemore time.
It so happened that I suddenly came face to face with a strange looking fish - with some resemblence to Betta - I asked the shopkeeper, and he said "Female Fighter" (believe me not many out here know the term 'Betta')
I just couldn't believe myself what I heard - I bought 5 of them.
Now I have kept them in a separate tank - they are not as agressive as a male is supposed to me - but they do a lot of chasing too.
That's about it :)

Breeding bettas is very involved...and takes alot of your time. Especially if you don't have a barracks system to put them in when their aggressive nature kicks in. I did one betta spawn which netted me over 200 baby betta..I took care of them for 6 months until they were old enough to give away. I had to clean all those individual cups every day. Quite a task. If you ever do try to breed make sure you do some serious research as to how to go about it. They can do some serious damage to each other if you don't go about it the right way.
