This is my first post and I am new to this hobby. I am at the end of my first week of cycling my tank with fish. I have two Mollies (one male one female)and a Single spotted Cory. I am concerned that the Cory is not getting enough food because the Mollies eat anything I put in the tank (Flakes).

Should I get the sinking pellets for the Cory?

Is it too soon to get a friend for the Cory, I know they like company?

Thanks for any input you could give a Newbie.

Sinking pellets would probably be a good idea. Mine love the Hikari Algae wafers the most even though they are supposedly not algae eaters. I also feed them the Bio-blend for bottom feeders. They gobble down the hikari's first and then pick at the Bottom feeder tablet for the next few days.

I would wait for cory buddies until you have the tank cycled since you are cycling with fish. You do not want to overload the tank. Once the tank is cycled get him a buddy or two with a week between each of them.

The only problem I see is if the mollies start populating. You could have a need for a bigger tank before you know it. the

Bio-blend also makes a tropical fish food that has some pellets that sink fast, some that float and some that sink very slowly.

It's a bit three bearish ... some are fast, some are slow and some are just right!

Sorry, I'm a little tired tonight.

Have you tried putting the flakes in a tablespoonful of water before you put them in your tank? I'm new to the hobby, too, but I find that this disperses the flakes a bit and lets them slowly sink to the bottom.
