Thanks. I agree the gourami is very nice looking. The betta seems to be OK with it but I see the occasional dart toward one of the guppies, but she doesnt ever try to chase them. I already arranged to get her filter media. After that do I want to continue daily water changes?

If you don't have test kits then I would continue the daily water changes for the first week. That shoudl give the bacteria a chance to catch up. From that point on you can probably slow down the water changes to everyother day, then once a week 30-50%.
