I just finished converting my old 10g to a planted tank!
10_plant.jpg

Substrate: 100% Flourite
Lighting: 2 x 20W screw in CF
CO2: Natural Plant Grow System
Plants: Ludwigia, Anubias Frazeri.

Need help with ID of plants on the left. Looks a little like Hemianthus (Micranthemum) micranthemoides.

When I prune back my 55g planted I will add some rotala, Hygro P. and some pennywort.

I was thinking about a school of Barbs (? type). I like the way 2-spot barbs look. Other than that I'm undecided.

VERY nice! I also use PC spirals, they're a fantastic solution for that old 10g incandescent fixture :)
Gorgeous tank, really. I love my cherry barbs, I think barbs would be a great choice for your tank. If two-spots have the same kind of 'personality' that cherrys have, you'll love them!

Sounds perfect to me :D
I've got seven girls with a few snails and one oto - he's on temporary assignment in the tank, but doing such an amazing job keeping the plants algae-free he may get a friend rather than going back into the other tank.

Cherrys are funny - mine make me giggle every time I see them. At first they were just little brown fish, and a few days after I got them they settled in and became little clowns! They go crazy any time I open the lid, hoping to be fed, and attack my arm while I'm pruning or doing a water change. They don't nip but they do chase eachother around and generally act like a bunch of little kids. Far more personality than most tetras seem to have, and absolutely fearless.
The males are stunning, but for the biotope tank I specifically asked for females because the tank is neutral browns and they fit in really nicely and look natural; I was afraid the deep green of the crypts and bright red little cherrys would look like Christmas all year round ;)

[edit]Len, I just had an attack of sudden-onset MTS! Now I want to switch my 10g to a 20g with the cherrys, oto, snails and a shoal of pygmy cories! :D [/edit]
