It is a nice looking tank but I too thought FW rays needed a fine substrate like SW ones do. Neo would know for certain. And aren't goldfish coldwater?

I purchased a book before getting into rays and read up on the substrate and the book on freshwater stingrays say they can have small rock, or even glass bottom so I think he is fine. They def. don't NEED sand but there is sand on the elft side away from out filter for him to burrow in. He burrows just as much under the other sand we are using.
Ooohhhhhhhh so cool. Someda after kids are moved outta the house (long time away) that's what I'd like to do.
haha thanks, my pops has a outdoor goldfish pond and the wood was in there for the longest time. It's real wood which makes it look nice.
