New 13G Nano Received! Need help starting step by step....

HI! Didn't hear back from you yet, but wanted to let you know I updated my pictures! click below...

ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 5.0-10
ph 8.4-8.8

The nitrate and ph are hard to tell the difference in color. My ph kit is old so I'll pick up a new one tomorrow. Is the nitrate okay?

I bought a new ph kit, but I really can barely tell the difference in color. Also the nitrate is 10. I'd like to get some info from you about the RO unit. Can I test my tap water with my nitrate kit???

I love the snails and hermits!!!!! They have cleaned up everything! I feel like I should be paying them... : )

S.G. is 1.025--- is that okay? (As mentioned earlier, LFS said to lower it to 1.023)

I have been away and not able to do more than check PMs. Sorry.

I disagree with your LFS about the spgr. Natural seawater is at 1.025, and that's where it should be for corals and inverts. The local reefers here keep it between 1.024 and 1.026, but the majority keep it at 1.025.

The RO will help with nitrate, but you may always have a little with such a small tank. I use a household unit, and wouldn't recommend it on the basis of expense. Probably worthwhile to post a thread in the DIY section.

Nice to hear the crew is cleaning things up! I will have to get a look at the pix when I'm back at my own computer.
