i think your over stock try to limit it to one kid per 140 gallon.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: its only a temp measure for inbetween growth

i just took a look at my kids in the last pic and wow they look so wired they decided to keep up with dad tonight they look so wired

ok so i left the tank to run on sunday basically cause ive spent over 10 hours this weekend getting it ready and doin wc so i thought id take sunday off

did the water test first thing this morning and it comes in like this

my camera really washes them out but they both came in as desired light purple on both nitrite and nitrate

so i will be putting fish in this afternoon

I don't think it's really fair for the scats if it's them VS 2 freshwater options on a freshwater forum :silly::banhim:

so true i was so tempted to make it a home for my scats since they eat my coral and have eaten my feather duster worms

but i had to go with what the majority told me was good

but trust me im workin a deal on a 200g sw set up

Excellent. :p: you're way too lucky to have a place to store all those tanks. I'd be happy to own something like that if I just made enough to pay the store's bills.

now i have five more little cats to bring from home and the catfish tank will be populated the next thing to do is to put the crushed coral sand mixed substrate in it is a reef ready product that pats pets carries ill show the bags when i put it in

for this method the most important thing i can stress it daily water tests with daily wc if needed but from here on it should be no issues and the water treatment of my choice is seachem prime

as well i will replace the aquaclear media bags at weeks end and will most probably redo the canister filter with the baskets being carbon, seachem nitrogen remover and the white ammonia ring things in the top two i might as well replace half of the foam filters with a carbon filter foam they sell at the petland ill show that as well

and there you have it the way that i fast track a tank :headbang2:

i came up with this method a while ago when i really needed to get a tank up an running in record speed the first time i tried it it was me sitting back and thinking hard how do i do this and the key factor is seachem prime in extra dose format to wipe out the killer nitrate factor

im sure that there are those who are sitting an just waiting for this tank to crash but i got news for you it has not happened with any of my other tanks and it aint gonna happen with this one not to be arrogant about it but its not any different than me moving a smaller exisiting tank to a bigger one as a upgrade except im setting up a new tank using the same method

but for those who have wondered do i have to wait a month to get a tank going no you dont but you do have to have more than one exisiting tank to do this properly i used media squeezing and filter bags from six other tanks to do this

so this time i thought i would photo document how i do this :dance2::dance:
it takes a lot of this :coffee2:and some of this :idea:and in the end of things you get this :cool-1:

so i hope this has helped in some way to clarify that im not a lunatic who has no idea as to what im doing

ok so i brought my cats from home to place them in the tank and darn i wish my camera was better

im sure that this little dude is a bristle nose plec i got him from walmart for 2 bucks he has these things that pop out of the side of his head this is the best shot i could get of him he will be the only plec in the cat tank so time will tell as he grows he also has a line of barbles that line his face

my 2 raphael cats which i learned have really sharp fins when they trap your finger against their body and i love their croaking noise

so the only issue with this method is you have to do a wc almost one per day for the first week to ensure that the quality does not slip into spike the water
