new 2.5 gal

ok, well my betta owning-master-friend says bettas live in puddles in the wild. and if they're in a big aquarium, they'll just hide. thats probably why mine always hid behind the filter. so i may get a smaller bowl. but i still wanna use that tank to hold some kind of cool fish. can i put any of these in the 2.5 gal? and how many of each?
flame tetra
guppy
honey gourami(why not? they only get 1.5 in!)

They live in "puddles" with greater surface area than your house, though most bettas that you see in a LFS have never seen the outside of a tank.

I wouldn't put any of those fish that you listed into a 2.5 gallon tank; not on a dare.

Hahaha...That makes me believe it can be done, because otto's are sensitive to bad water, and you've kept them goin good for a year. So that sounds like a great idea for a 2.5g

To place any of these fish into this tank would be cruel. These are fish that love to move around and can not do it in this tank.

god! :coffee: if not those, then what besides a betta/adf can i put in there? and nothing we've already said.
There is basically one fish that can live happy here and do well, the dwarf live bearer but those are probably to plain for your tastes. I can list a few more fish with color but do require advance fish keeping. They require live foods.

How about two male guppies? They don't get too big and won't breed, but then they might fight ocassionally. 2.5 gallons is even rather small for a 2.5. I second the betta idea.

ok ok, so its confirmed, a betta. but what good would a ADF do for me? and is that the only thing i can put in there with him?
