thats what i used to seperate them when i sold them at the auction. i think i sold 19 juvies. now im replenishing my stock to sell some more.
um depends, there isnt a large demand where i sell them in san antonio, it all depends on the cichlid fan base and the supply. its really hard to find cyps/sandsifters here in my area of texas, so you could make a good $ selling them. however, shellies are more common, so the supply mostly meets the demand. youll still get a good bit for them, but not near retail by far. i havnt tried selling to my lfs because there arnt any stores that sell shellies within 100 miles so they might have an interest...
OK, good to know. I'll keep it mind and maybe talk to the LFS when the time comes. I'll take note to the growth of them to see what type of effort it would be to raise them. I'd guess it would be fairly simple if several generations can be kept in the same tank.
if your looking into makeing money breeding fish than you need to try petrochromis, i think thats the genus, theyre similar to the tropheus, ive seen'em for $1200 a pair. now thats makin good money.
Yeah i agree multi's alone will bring in some bucks but others could bring more me i am in it for the fun aye well i could use extra money at times yeah thats it..
