NEW 29 gallon tank. stocking.

If I had a 29 gallon to play with, I might do some of the following:

- School some tetras (probably neons)
- Get some cory cats (peppered most likely)
- Do a species tank with a handful of dwarf puffers and possibly some otos
- Keep a brackish tank with mollies (taken to brackish gradually) or possibly keep a single figure 8 puffer (29 gallons is a tad small for one, so I doubt I would do this)

I would definitely plant it. I might experiment with a sand tank. Whatever you go with, have fun and good luck! :)

The book (The Simple Guide to Fresh Water Aquariums) has some nice suggestions for 29-gallons. One of the ones i liked was an asian-themed one with gouramis:

6 White Clouds (use to cycle)
6 Gold barbs
8 Rasboras (Rasbora heteromorpha)
a pair of dwarf gouramis (Colisa lalia)

i've had paradise fish (diff gourami) before and they are really fun, and very hardy.

Unless cherry barbs and kuhli loaches like to eat shrimp, than no, they will not. I started a thread about wether or not gouraamies will eat shrimps, and the verdict was NO.

Gourami with inverts?

Not trying to argue with you, but I've read posts on other forums that endlers have eaten shrimp. One answer to a question is hardly a definative verdict. Crystal red/Bumblebee shrimp only get to be a little over an inch, i'm sure a 6" gourami could/would eat a shrimp if it wanted too.

Just a note: min for an F8 is 15 gallons. You might be thinking of a GSP?
