New 29 gallon Tank - Tiger Barbs Or Black Convict!?

So I just recently purchased another TANK which is 29 gallons
My original plan was to get about 8 or 9 Tiger Barbs

But for some reason I really want to get 2 Male Black Convicts instead.

My question really is would 29 gallon tank be big enough for a pair of black convicts!?

It's a really crappy picture.... but im slowly setting up my tank (decos etc), another week the tank should be ready. :woot:

29 gal would not be enough for the two male convicts, you will run into aggression issues.
I'd go with the tiger barbs

Can I have just 1 black convict...... or should I just eliminate that idea
and really just stick to the tiger barbs?

I would eliminate the idea honestly and just stick with the tiger barbs.
you could get away with just one in the tank, but IMO the tiger barbs will be more interesting and make the tank look better.

29 gallon? 1 male convict and a school of tiger barbs! 3 tigers 3 greens and 3 albinos!

i had a 25gal with 1 male and 2 females for some time and it worked out allright for quite a while but once they throw down a spawn as soon as those fry get old enough get them out of there (jmo)

in my opinion i would do a kribensis or ram setup in a 29 gal, thats a nice looking tank

I just want to make sure they are comfortable and not over crowded
