New 55 gallon with Pregnant Blue Lobsters

Just a comment on the blue lobster/cray... They are so pretty and the babies are going to be adorable!!! You should consider selling when they are old enough!!

Good Luck
Maribeth

Ps. NO TINFOIL BARBS OR ANGELS!!! Like the Wizard said, they are tropical fish, and would require different parameters!!!

Ooh! I'll post a picture. Dont judge on the gravel, i hate it, and want to go to something natural, but i had to get something "pretty" so my gf wouldnt give me any grief lol. gimme a few!

I hope you let the ammonia levels go back down in the cycle after they rose when you added the goldfish... try looking up fishless cycling, and take everything your fish store employees say with a grain of salt.. theyre just trying to make a sale.

I check the levels at least two times daily, everything is in order. I got home from work and the PH was a tad high, so i added some PHdown and now everything is fine.

:pc:how the heck do i put a picture on a post?:pc:

Im the worst nerd ever... lmao

Recommend not messing with your pH at all. Is that something else your fish store employee sold you? There is RARELY (read: hardly EVER) a reason to mess with pH, fish can adapt to just about any pH that tap water will have, and messing with it will cause more problems than anything else.

Also... to add a photo to a post, click the little paperclip icon in the post box before you submit the post, and you can upload photos there.

Oh crud, seriously?? These:swear::lipssealedsmilie::swear::mad2: fish store employee :evil_lol::swear: sons a :swear:....ugh you wanna come to philly to be my fish mentor lol? i need somebody to keep me from listening to these morons... sigh. money wasted on useless chemicals...:headshake2: I suppose santa isnt real too huh? lol. But on a serious note, everything else is very well balanced.

LOL. Keep posting here and we'll get you up to speed in no time. Check out the Article corner, and since you're keeping blue crays, check out the Freshwater Invertebrates forum, too.

Like I said... Take EVERYTHING they say to you with a grain of salt. The fact that they sold you pH modification chemicals knowing you are a n00b to fishkeeping, says one of two things. Either the employee is also a n00b, or theyre just making a buck because they can come off as knowledgable.

We won't steer you wrong.

you guys rock!:headbang2: Thanks so much for the encouragement and good advice! Now its time for me to sleep, its 4 minutes till 5am and i gotta be to work at 8. lol. Worst sleep pattern ever. :screwy:

I know what it feels like. I lost probably $300 to the lfs through wrong advice. But keep going and it's well worth it. Goodluck!! :)
