New 55 lake Tanganyika setup

Well as stated above I set up a african tank 3 days ago. I used black Tahitian moon sand with light colored rocks and black backround on the back and sides. I started out with 3 synodontis petricola cats, 3 neolamprologus lelupi, and 3 julidochromis transcriptis "kissi". In a few months I will add some cyprichromis leptosoma and possibly 2 black calvus. My setup looks pretty sweet right now. :D :D :D
 
No shellies? No xeniatilapia? No gobbie cichlids? Come on man, what's a Tang tank without bottom dwellers. Otherwise it sounds sweet.

How does the black sand look with wihite rocks? I've always thought it would look sharp, but also thought if might look unnatural since sand is usually eroded bedrock. maybe a couple handfuls of crushed coral spread around to compliment the white rocks? Need some pics.
 
Well I just looked up some profiles and I think I'm now going to add some lamprologus caudopunctatus and I was already thinking about adding some crushed coral to help buffer the water. I dont have a digital camera or scanner, so I cant post pics right now. :( :(
 
I was always partial to the brichardi and daffodils. Love the whole spawning community thing they do.

I'm jealous, but if I had a 55G dedicated to Tanganykans I would have oodles of shell-dwellers in there. :D
 
I have always liked brichardis, but from what I've been told and read, if they pair off, they get very aggressive. So this is what is stopping me.
 
What ever you do don't add any calvus if you add the calvus kiss goodbye to the small sheldwellers as my black calvus thought my little ocelatus looked like a nice meal and i now have no ocelatus.
