Java fern, vals and anubias taste bitter to fish (or at least thats what it says in their profile, is I'm guessing why they don't touch them), even if they are herbivores, the worst that mbuna can do to those plants is uproot them.

If they like the plant, they'll eat it despite you feeding them well, mbuna have no control over their appetite, overfeeding is one of the ways how they get the bloat.
True. They will eat till they explode.
Mbuna in the wild scavenge and pick for algae all day long. It will come natural to them that the plants are food.
Well, I have done about as much as I can now. I would like more slate but I can't get any until summer which is still about 3-4 months away so what I have now will have to do. I moved the driftwood and a few rocks around so I think it looks a bit better now. Also put in some more plants (fake ones) to fill it up a bit. I've got some fish in there now...3 Yellow Labs, 1 Johanni, 1 Powder Blue Socolofi, and 1 Blue Cobalt. I would like to overstock it just a little bit, by about 2 or 3 fish. And yes, I know, I need good filtration for that and I have ordered another pump like what i've got on there now. I'll put the new pump on once I get to the point where i'm stocked/slightly overstocked. I plan to still add 1 Ice Blue, 3 Aurora, 1 Hongi, 1 Albino Socolofi, and maybe an Auratus or Kenyi (yes, I realize these 2 are quite aggressive, thats why its only a 'maybe'). I would also like to add a pleco of some kind...maybe a Bristlenose, would he be okay in there with those Malawis? These guys are pretty shy, darting for the rocks whenever I move but anyway heres some pictures I was able to get...hope you like.
Why didn't those last 3 come up? There should be 8 pictures but only 5 showed up and the other 3 are attached but aren't showing up...can a mod fix this? Those 3 are my favorite haha!
