I think you can get the ones off the glass with just a 1/4" piece of tubing and syphon them out. Just have a little water ready to replace what you take out, but you can pinch the hose between getting the critters to reduce the amount of water you take out. Won't get rid of them all but will help if you have 100's on the glass.
Maybe look into some temporary, aggressive mechanical filtration (maybe lower micron filter socks?). Just be careful, since you could starve other things doing this.
ok i'll try siphoning out what i can now. i always have extra water ready to go so that's no problem.
considering these guys are jellyfish. it hasn't happened as much recently, but about a month back, every time i put my arm in the tank, once i took it out it would be very itchy almost like something stung it. could this have been the problem?
though it hasn't happened in about 3 weeks, maybe i'm either getting used to it or the population is fading.

Well, they are close to jellyfish (hydrozoans vs. scyphozoans) and have alternating life stages just like jellyfish, though hydroids usually have a dominant polyp stage as opposed to a dominant medusa stage.
The itchiness can be caused by any number of things. That may or may not have something to do with it. Too, too many variables to ascertain that.
