new 75 gal pictures

Thanks for the info. I started feeding some romain salad also. I put it in the freezer first let it freeze then rinse it , then feed it. They all love it. I have other fish in the tank that just love the meats , and the tangs likes it too. I feed small amounts several times a day, so they seem really happy. My tang will eat right out of my fingers he is not afraid. It seems as though he wants to be petted. LOL. What other vegies from the store can I offer the tangs?

filtration?

I like the pics....especially the bicolor...

can you please tell me how you filter your tank?
I see you are using LR, but what else are you using?
Do you have any external filters, like a wet/dry or a cannister?

I have a marineland 300 w/2 bio wheels and a wisper 20-40 on the other end for extra filtration. I have 3 power heads . one pointing to the top of the water for oxygen and one mid way and one on the bottom. I also have a 4 watt sterilizer. The 75 gal is about 2 months old and the 55 is 2 1/2 years old. I am glad you liked them . If you want to know anymore just ask. Thanks

Thank you for replying Skooby.
I ask because our tanks are very similarly filtered and stocked....I recently have run into problems with increased nitrates, and I am going to take Oriongirl's advice and add a skimmer, and then add some LR as well.

I also like your 3 powerhead idea...if you have any pictures of them installed in the tank can you please post them?

Thanks!

I change about 7 gal of water every week religiously and my nitrates are 0. I have set up a bare bones RO unit so I am constantly making RO water. I dont know what water you use for top off and water changes , but I noticed 100% difference in my nitrates when I started using RO. I will get some pictures of my power heads and post them. Hope it helps.

fish veggies

My brother has a 330 FOWLR.There are 2-3 tangs in there, along with some perc clowns and other stuff. He uses a veggie clip and peels a cucumber and puts a nice sized slice in there and the fish LOVE it.You could give it a try.Hope this helps out.

what is RO

RO is reversed osmosis water.I have a 125 FO and never used RO water, just plain tap.The filters are kinda pricy and waste a lot of water.I have never had a problem using tap water, besides ,isn't there something more beneficial to your tank you can spend the money on?Do you have a protein skimmer?DEfinately a must have, worth the tanks weight in gold.

I spent 99$ on my RO water and wont ever use tap water again. Tap water is full of alot of stuff that is bad, pollutants, nitrates, and silicates. Most saltwater aquarists will tell you to use it if at all possible. Makes a big difference. I hope this helps.
